ARTEMISIA GENTILESCHI

Artemisia Gentileschi, Pintora del Barroco, trabajó en el taller de su padre. Fue rechazada por la Academia de Bellas Artes de Roma por ser mujer, sin embargo, fue admitida en la de Florencia. Sus obras se caracterizaban por un fuerte dramatismo y cosechó un gran éxito debido a su gran talento. Entre sus clientes se hallaban personalidades como Felipe IV de España.

🇬🇧 Artemisia Gentileschi, Baroque painter, worked in her father’s workshop. She was rejected by the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome for being a woman, however, she was admitted to the one in Florence. Her works were characterized by strong drama. She was very successful due to her great talent. Among her clients were personalities such as Felipe IV, king of Spain.
